- 3 cups peeled and diced apples

- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add the chilled butter and mix until crumbly.
- Slowly add cold water until the dough forms.
- Roll out the dough and cut into circles.
- In another bowl, combine apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Place a spoonful of filling on one half of a dough circle.
- Fold over and seal the edges with a fork.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the pies until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla extract to the apple mixture.
