- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 4 strips bacon, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mustard
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the ground beef and onion, cooking until the beef is browned.
- Drain excess fat and stir in the ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and beef broth.
- Add the uncooked rice to the skillet, stir well, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
- Stir in the cheese and crumbled bacon, cooking until the cheese is melted.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add diced pickles or jalapeños.
- This dish can be made in advance and reheated.
