- 2 pounds beef knuckle
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups sauerkraut
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the beef knuckle.
- In a large oven-proof pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Brown the beef knuckle on all sides in the pot.
- Add the beef broth, sauerkraut, and bay leaf to the pot.
- Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.
- Bake for 2-2.5 hours, or until the meat is tender.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or bread for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be reheated easily and taste even better the next day.
