A moist, flavorful, and easy-to-make banana bread perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf (about 10 slices)

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 overripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar (or white sugar)
  • 2 eggs (or flax eggs for vegan option)
  • ½ cup melted butter (or oil for dairy-free)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: chocolate chips, walnuts, cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  • Mash the bananas in a bowl until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt).
  • In another bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring gently until just mixed (don’t overmix).
  • Fold in optional ingredients like chocolate chips or nuts.
  • Pour the batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool for 10-15 minutes before removing from the pan. Let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra moisture, add Greek yogurt or sour cream.
  • For a healthier option, replace half the sugar with honey or maple syrup.
  • To make it gluten-free, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
  • To make it vegan, use flax eggs and replace butter with oil.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
