- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound bacon, chopped
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 4 sub rolls
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped bacon, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, BBQ sauce, bourbon, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake meatballs for 25-30 minutes until cooked through.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat additional BBQ sauce in a saucepan.
- Once meatballs are done, toss them in the heated BBQ sauce.
- Slice sub rolls and add meatballs. Top with shredded cheese.
- Return subs to the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Notes
- For extra flavor, let the meatball mixture chill for 30 minutes before forming.
- Feel free to add your favorite toppings like pickles or jalapeños.
