- 6 cups day-old bread, cubed
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, milk, and heavy cream. Let it soak for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Fold the egg mixture into the bread mixture until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- While the bread pudding is baking, prepare the vanilla custard sauce if desired.
- Serve warm with a drizzle of the vanilla custard sauce.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brioche or challah bread.
- Experiment with adding dried fruits or nuts to the mixture.
