Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Slice the potatoes thinly and layer half in the dish.
  4. Mix cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Sprinkle half of the Parmesan and Gruyere cheese on top.
  7. Add the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve with a salad for a complete meal.
