Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a spoon or small scoop, drop batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove beignets from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a dash of vanilla extract to the wet mixture.
