Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in water, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into circles.
  5. In another bowl, combine the apples, caramel sauce, cinnamon, and sugar.
  6. Place filling on one side of each dough circle, fold over, and seal edges with a fork.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
