- 3 ripe bananas
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup dulce de leche
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in bananas and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to the banana mixture, starting and ending with flour.
- Pour batter into greased cake pans and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool completely before frosting.
- Spread dulce de leche between cake layers and on top.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
- Serve with whipped cream for added richness.
