  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in bananas and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to the banana mixture, starting and ending with flour.
  7. Pour batter into greased cake pans and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let cakes cool completely before frosting.
  10. Spread dulce de leche between cake layers and on top.
