- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup chocolate caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
- Pour half of the batter into a greased cake pan.
- Spread the chocolate caramel sauce over the batter before adding the remaining batter on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of sea salt on top of the cake before serving.
