- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup diced onions
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 slices American cheese
- 12 slices bread
- 1 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onions over medium heat.
- Layer half of the bread slices in a greased baking dish.
- Spread the beef mixture over the bread.
- Layer the cheese on top of the beef.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the casserole.
- Top with remaining bread slices.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve with pickles and additional ketchup if desired.
- Refrigerate leftovers within two hours.
