- 1 medium head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the cabbage by removing core and chopping into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large casserole dish, layer half of the cabbage, followed by half the beef mixture, and half the cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining cabbage, beef mixture, and top with remaining cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
- You can use any type of cheese you prefer.
