  • 1 medium head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the cabbage by removing core and chopping into bite-sized pieces.
  6. In a large casserole dish, layer half of the cabbage, followed by half the beef mixture, and half the cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining cabbage, beef mixture, and top with remaining cheese.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
  • You can use any type of cheese you prefer.
