- 2 large onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Slice the onions into 1/2-inch rings and separate the rings.
- In one bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each onion ring in flour, then egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra crunch, double coat the onion rings by repeating the egg and breadcrumb steps.
- Feel free to experiment with different cheeses!
