- 2 large onions
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- salt to taste
- vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Slice the onions into thick rings and carefully separate them.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally into the breadcrumbs.
- Place the mozzarella cheese inside some of the rings and top with another ring to seal the cheese in.
- Fry the rings in the hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the breadcrumbs.
- Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
