- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup cherry preserves
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and butter. Mix until crumbly.
- Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking pan.
- Spread cherry preserves evenly over the crust.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, salt, and vanilla. Pour over the cherry layer.
- Crumble the remaining mixture over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before cutting into bars.

- Serve with whipped cream for an extra treat.
