  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup dulce de leche

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
  5. Slowly pour in the boiling water and stir until the batter is smooth.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, spread dulce de leche between the cake layers and over the top of the cake.
