  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add in eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in boiling water until well combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes in the pans before transferring them to a wire rack.
  7. For the frosting, beat peanut butter and powdered sugar together, then add cocoa powder and milk until reaching desired consistency.
  8. Once the cakes are cool, spread the frosting between the layers and on top of the cake.
