  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 cups chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour into prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, place one layer on a cake plate, spread caramel sauce, sprinkle pecans, and top with chocolate frosting. Repeat with the second layer.
