- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm and the butter is melted.
- Add the milk mixture and egg to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, then place in a greased bowl and cover to rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and spread with a mixture of apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and raisins.
- Roll the dough up and cut into slices.
- Place rolls in a baking pan and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped nuts to the filling.
- Serve warm with a drizzle of icing on top.
