  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • ⅓ cup baking soda
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Stir in the yeast and let it sit until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let it rise for 1 hour, covered, in a warm place.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. In a large pot, boil water and baking soda.
  7. Divide the dough into pieces and shape them into sticks.
  8. Boil each stick for 30 seconds and place on the baking sheet.
  9. Brush with melted butter and mix sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle on top.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
