- 6 cups day-old bread, cubed
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup caramel sauce, for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and milk. Let it soak for about 20 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture over the soaked bread and gently fold to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brioche or challah bread.
- Consider adding raisins or nuts for extra texture.
