  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook until brown on both sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. Add sliced onions and mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until softened.
  5. Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir into the simmering broth and cook until thickened.
  7. Add the hamburger steaks back to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve the steaks topped with onion and mushroom gravy.
