- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook until brown on both sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add sliced onions and mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until softened.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir into the simmering broth and cook until thickened.
- Add the hamburger steaks back to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Serve the steaks topped with onion and mushroom gravy.
