- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup honey
- 2 cups toasted nuts (almonds and hazelnuts)
- 2 egg whites (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and honey and cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer until the mixture reaches 255°F (hard ball stage).
- While the sugar mixture is cooking, beat the egg whites in a clean bowl until stiff peaks form.
- Once the sugar mixture is ready, slowly pour it into the egg whites while continuing to beat until well combined.
- Fold in the toasted nuts, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Pour the mixture into a lined baking pan and spread evenly.
- Let it cool completely before cutting into pieces.

- Store leftover nougat in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
