Ingredients

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, dissolve the sugar over medium heat to make caramel.
  3. Pour the caramel into a flan mold and let it cool.
  4. In a bowl, whisk sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  5. Pour the mixture over the hardened caramel.
  6. In a larger pan, place the flan mold and fill it halfway with water.
  7. Bake for about 50-60 minutes until set.
  8. Let it cool and then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
  9. To serve, carefully invert the mold onto a plate.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a pinch of salt to the mixture.
  • Make sure to let the flan cool completely for best texture.
