Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 teaspoons gelatin powder
- 3 tablespoons water
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot, but not boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it blooms.
- Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm cream mixture and stir until fully dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into serving cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
Notes
- For a fruit topping, consider using fresh berries or a berry compote.
- Be careful not to overheat the cream mixture to prevent it from curdling.
