- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 large ripe bananas
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup whipped topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to cake mix instructions.
- Prepare the cake batter as directed and bake in a 9×13 inch pan.
- While the cake is baking, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, add brown sugar, heavy cream, bananas, vanilla, and cinnamon, and cook until combined.
- Once the cake is done, poke holes all over the top and pour the banana sauce over the cake, allowing it to absorb.
- Let cool and then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Top with whipped topping before serving.
Notes
- This cake can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
- Feel free to add nuts for a crunch.
