- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the boiling water until well combined.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Frost with chocolate frosting once completely cooled.
Notes
- For extra chocolatey flavor, add chocolate chips to the batter.
- Allow the cake to fully cool before frosting to prevent melting.
