Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove and drain on paper towels, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add vanilla extract to the batter.
