Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and add the sliced onions.
- Cook the onions until they are caramelized, about 20 minutes.
- Add the beef broth and thyme to the skillet with the onions and simmer.
- Cook the gnocchi according to package instructions, then add them to the skillet.
- Stir in the grated Gruyère cheese until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese if desired.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute beef broth with vegetable broth.
- Feel free to add more cheese on top for a richer flavor.
