- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup chopped lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat the chicken breasts with the marinade and let them sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium heat and cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice it thinly.
- Warm the pita breads on the grill for a few seconds on each side.
- Assemble the gyros by placing the sliced chicken, lettuce, tomato, and red onion inside the pita.
- Drizzle homemade tzatziki sauce over the fillings.
- Wrap and enjoy your Greek-Style Chicken Gyros!
