- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

- 1 package puff pastry sheets
- 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a medium saucepan, combine the cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract over medium heat. Cook until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into squares.
- Place a tablespoon of the cherry mixture onto the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the pastry over to create triangles and seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with the egg wash made from mixing egg and milk.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

- Feel free to add almond extract for extra flavor.
