  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  5. In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper until browned. Drain excess fat.
  6. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, and basil, and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  8. Roll out the dough and press it into a deep dish pizza pan, covering the sides.
  9. Layer mozzarella cheese on the bottom, followed by the beef mixture, and top with Parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  11. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
