- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the strawberries and sugar. Stir occasionally until the strawberries begin to release their juices.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch and water together until smooth. Add this mixture to the saucepan.
- Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and becomes bubbly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
- Let cool before using as a pie filling or topping.
