- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder.
- Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and cocoa powder and sprinkle it over the batter.
- Carefully pour the hot water over the top of the cake mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the cake has risen and the pudding is bubbling.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with ice cream for an extra treat!
- You can substitute almond milk for a dairy-free version.
