- 1 cup buttermilk

- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with lemon juice until smooth and drizzle over the cooled cake.
