Ingredients
Scale
- 1 prime rib roast (about 5-7 pounds)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Mix garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme, and Dijon mustard in a bowl.
- Rub the mixture all over the prime rib.
- Place the prime rib in a roasting pan and pour the beef broth into the pan.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue cooking until desired doneness.
- Let the roast rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a more flavorful crust, let the prime rib sit at room temperature for about an hour before cooking.
- Use a meat thermometer to achieve the perfect doneness: 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, 140°F (60°C) for medium.
