- 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 avocado, diced
- 2 limes, juiced
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a pot, boil water and add the shrimp. Cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove shrimp and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, avocado, lime juice, hot sauce, and salt.
- Add the cooled shrimp to the mixing bowl and toss gently to combine all ingredients.
- Serve chilled in a glass or bowl, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
Notes
- For an extra kick, add more hot sauce to taste.
- Serve with tortilla chips for a crunchy side.
