Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, cubed
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast, and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms, then knead until smooth.
- Separate dough into balls, flatten them, and place a cube of mozzarella in the center.
- Wrap the dough around the cheese and shape it into a pretzel.
- Prepare a baking soda bath by boiling water with baking soda.
- Briefly dip each pretzel in the baking soda bath, then place on a baking sheet.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
