Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast, and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms, then knead until smooth.
  4. Separate dough into balls, flatten them, and place a cube of mozzarella in the center.
  5. Wrap the dough around the cheese and shape it into a pretzel.
  6. Prepare a baking soda bath by boiling water with baking soda.
  7. Briefly dip each pretzel in the baking soda bath, then place on a baking sheet.
  8. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sea salt.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
