- 1 pound ground turkey
- 4 slices turkey bacon
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 burger buns
- 1/4 cup sliced pepperoni
Instructions
- Preheat the grill or stovetop pan over medium heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, cooked, chopped turkey bacon, mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into four equal patties.
- Grill the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until cooked through.
- During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with pepperoni and a slice of mozzarella cheese, allowing the cheese to melt.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill if desired.
- Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun.
- Add additional pizza sauce or toppings as desired before serving.
Notes
- These burgers can be topped with your favorite pizza toppings, such as bell peppers or olives.
- For a spicier kick, add some crushed red pepper flakes.
