Ingredients

  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together.
  3. Pour the mixture into a baking pan and sprinkle the pecans on top.
  4. In a bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and eggs.
  5. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the egg mixture.
  6. Gradually mix in the buttermilk.
  7. Pour the batter over the pecans in the baking pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before inverting onto a plate.
