- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Beat butter and cream cheese until smooth.
- Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
- Mix in egg and vanilla.
- Whisk dry ingredients separately, then combine with wet mixture.
- Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line baking sheets.
- Roll dough to ⅛ inch and cut shapes.
- Bake for 12 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
- Cool and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
