- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 12 large egg whites
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 cup whipped cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in flour and vanilla extract gently.
- Pour the batter into a tube pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Once done, invert the pan to cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, mix the drained pineapple with whipped cream.
- Once the cake is cool, remove from the pan and top with pineapple mixture.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can sprinkle some coconut on top.
- This dessert is best served chilled.
