Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spread half of the dough into the prepared pan and drizzle with caramel sauce. Then, spread the remaining dough over the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For extra caramel flavor, drizzle additional caramel sauce on top after baking.
