- 1 pound turkey bacon
- 1 pound chicken ham
- 1 loaf rye bread
- 2 cups sauerkraut, drained
- 2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 cup thousand island dressing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- Layer the bottom of a baking dish with half of the rye bread slices.
- Add a layer of chicken ham followed by sauerkraut and a sprinkle of cheese.
- Spread half of the thousand island dressing over the cheese layer and then top with the crispy turkey bacon.
- Add the remaining rye bread slices on top.
- Pour the rest of the thousand island dressing over the top and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add some spicy mustard to the dressing.
- Make sure to drain the sauerkraut well to prevent the dish from becoming soggy.
