- 2 pounds chicken breasts
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides.
- Add chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Remove chicken and shred it with two forks.
- Return the shredded chicken to the skillet.
- Mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry, then add it to the skillet to thicken the sauce.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot over rice or pasta.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and garlic overnight.
- This dish can be made in a slow cooker for convenience.
