Instructions

2. Add butter, salt, and 1 cup flour. Mix well, then gradually add remaining flour until the dough forms.
3. Knead by hand (10 minutes) or in a stand mixer (5-7 minutes) until smooth.
4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours until doubled.
5. Punch down the dough, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
6. Cover and let it rise again for 45-60 minutes.
7. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and bake for 30-34 minutes until golden brown.
8. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
