- 3 pounds beef chuck roast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the beef chuck roast with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, then sear on all sides until browned.
- Place the seared beef in the slow cooker. Add chopped onion and minced garlic on top.
- In a bowl, mix beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the beef is tender and can be shredded easily.
- Remove the beef, shred with two forks, and return to the sauce to soak in the flavor before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, let the beef marinate in the seasoning overnight before cooking.
- Adjust the amount of barbecue sauce according to your taste preference.
