A delicious and easy recipe for pulled beef made in a slow cooker, perfect for sandwiches or served with sides.

  • Total Time: 8 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the beef chuck roast with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, then sear on all sides until browned.
  2. Place the seared beef in the slow cooker. Add chopped onion and minced garlic on top.
  3. In a bowl, mix beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the beef.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the beef is tender and can be shredded easily.
  5. Remove the beef, shred with two forks, and return to the sauce to soak in the flavor before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, let the beef marinate in the seasoning overnight before cooking.
  • Adjust the amount of barbecue sauce according to your taste preference.
