- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 slices turkey bacon
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and crumble it.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion, carrots, and garlic. Sauté until softened.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the crumbled turkey bacon, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, and peas. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes on top.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add some hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- Feel free to use leftovers in the filling for a quick meal.
