Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter until fluffy.
  3. Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Press two-thirds of the dough into a greased baking pan.
  5. In another bowl, beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Add egg and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture, and stir until combined.
  7. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the dough in the pan.
  8. Crumb the remaining dough over the top of the cream cheese layer.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
